This house is another small, highly crafted project. We have reworked this house a bit at a time over approximately 20 years. Each element added was considered carefully with what the whole would become.
I started here with a small commission, replacing a plywood garden shed with an 8’ x 10’ shingle-and-cedar shed, detailed with elements familiar from Sconset cottages, designed as a focal pavilion in this cottage garden.
All materials here are natural and comfortably at home in this seacoast garden. The wide trim boards and door are red cedar, and the shakes on the roof and wall too. The glass panes are antique and seeded.
